SCAM ALERT FOR APPLICANTS
It has come to the City’s attention that applicants are receiving fraudulent emails requesting money for applications submitted to various City offices, however most seem to be “issued” from the City’s Planning Commission and are signed with Chairman Straus’s name.
Please be aware that the City of Mackinac Island will never request payment via wire transfer. If you receive an email or a similarly fraudulent communication requesting any payment, please do not respond or issue payment.
We ask that you forward your original email with the fraudulent request for payment to the Michigan Cyber Command Center at mc3 [at] michigan.gov (mc3[at]michigan[dot]gov).
If you would like to verify any invoices, please contact the appropriate City office.
