Senior Transport

************NEWS****************

Your Mackinac Island Police Department will be resuming the Senior Transportation Program effective November 15, 2023. The program is designed to offer transportation assistance to senior citizens age 58 and older, and those residents with disabilities which preclude them from reaching medical appointments, ferry transportation, etc.

Forms which include a mandatory hold-harmless/liability waiver and guidelines on eligibility and restrictions are available in the bank across from the police station. Forms should be completed in their entirety and mailed to the police department or dropped off in an envelope provided in the front vestibule of the station.

We are still observing COVID precautions including mask-wear and hand sanitizing. If you are sick, wear a mask.

If you can't obtain a form from the bank, I've attached it as a TIFF here for you to print. You can print and sign it and scan or email it back to me at dtopolski@mipd (there are three pages, we only need the "wavier" and "policy" pages back).

If you haven't turned in your forms by the time you request a ride, please give your original signed copy to the officer who picks you up the first time so we can have the original on file.

Some discretion is used in following the policy, but please understand that priority is given to residents who need to make trips for medical or other pressing matters.
