Profile

Joseph Davis is originally from Grand Ledge, Michigan. After graduating high school, Joseph went to Ferris State University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. While at Ferris he was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, the Criminal Justice Honor Society. As a member of APS he worked with the community through several events including Relay for Life, The Big Event, and Volley for the Pups. After graduating from FSU, Joseph completed the Mid-Michigan Police Academy in Lansing, Michigan.

He was hired as a Seasonal Police Office and worked a shortened season in 2020. He returned as a Seasonal Police Office the following April and accepted a permanent, full-time position with MIPD in August 2021. Joseph says working on Mackinac Island offers a unique way of policing. Being in the public on a bike, rather than driving around in a car, is his preferred type of patrol.

Joseph has found a permanent home in the Village with his girlfriend, Dana, and their cat Kingston, rescued from the Cheboygan Humane Society.
