Mackinac Island  Drinking Water Plant Operator
• Year round, full time position (40 hrs. per week, occasional overtime.)
• Starting pay is $21.65 per hour.
• No experience required. Paid training provided.
• Valid driver’s license REQUIRED.

• Raises upon completion of certification exams.
• Math/science, equipment maintenance, or other troubleshooting background is helpful.

Position requires year-round indoor and outdoor work and the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. Work entails operation and maintenance of the City of Mackinac Island’s drinking water facility, distribution system, reservoirs, operation of the drinking water Plant’s microbiology laboratory, reliable record keeping, and documentation of various processes.
All training time and materials are paid, including online and off-Island classroom training opportunities. Additional growth and pay raise opportunities for obtaining State licenses.
